Huravee School, the largest school in Maldives is one of the schools recently built in Male’s suburban extension, Hulhumale’. Huravee School is a seven-storey building with three blocks and 53 classrooms. The namesake of Huravee School is Sultan al-Ghazi al-Huravee (Dhonbandaarain) the king who liberated Maldives, from Malabari conquest in the 18th century.
Huravee School was officially inaugurated by his Excellency President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih, on 13th January 2019, with about 600 students. Now in 2021, the school has more than 1000 students studying from LKG to Grade 10. The school contains all standard facilities such as laboratories, library, multi-purpose halls, prayer rooms, resource rooms, rooms for extra-curricular activities, kitchen space, canteen, and two lifts. Also, the school has open spaces in all floors providing recess areas for teachers and universal access ramps allowing wheelchair access.
