The year 2020 started with a bang for me! I was elected captain of our school and I was on cloud 9 cherishing my victory despite all the odds. As the captain of the school I had high aspirations to bring about many positive changes this year for the benefit of our
students. I made a promise to my fellow students that I will help them with anything they needed and be the bridge between the students and the management. However, the Covid-19 pandemic which took the world by storm, killed all my enthusiasm.

It was very disappointing as a lot of my plans were shattered. I was declared elected as Captain of Huravee School on March 3rd and by March 12th the government had imposed a lockdown in the country. We had to drastically change and adapt to the new situation. It was very tough at first especially since everyone had to figure out a way to live life within the confines of their homes.

Because of all the schools closing down and the sudden recession as well, a lot of the people were having trouble financially. I felt very anxious as I had no idea how anything would go in the future. I was mostly worried about my studies. Since I am the school
captain, the teachers, school management, parents and students have high expectations about me getting into National Top 5 ranks.

When the lockdown was imposed, most of the content of many subjects was not covered and we had very little time to do that after the lockdown was lifted.

Although I had to play the role of school captain, I was not able to do much in the first few months of the lockdown. But after while, I slowly adapted myself to the situation, I was able to cope up with the online classes and help the management in several school related works.

Even though I failed to fulfil all the things I had planned -- like sports meets, club activities and entertainment programs for the students, I have committed myself do as much as possible to help the teachers,
